Nightingale
What is Nightingale?
Nightingale is a feature of the VON website that gives member centers the ability to view and create
statistical reports online. Free to all members, Nightingale is easy to use and is updated daily.
With our secure server and a confidential login, Nightingale lets members:
- View statistical reports on all collected measures (see samples)
- Download information in PDF or Excel formats
- Get lists of infant ID numbers associated with a given outcome
- Download Network database summaries
- Download center summaries of risk-adjusted information
Moreover, Nightingale lets members view their data broken down by:
- Birth weight
- Gestational age
- Birth location
- Birth year
- VLBW or Expanded populations
Members can also compare their results to:
- All centers in the Network
- Centers sharing the same NICU type
- Centers within their group (for centers participating in a VON group)
Getting access to Nightingale is easy!
-
Sign a Web Services Addendum.
A signed Web Services Addendum authorizing Vermont Oxford Network to give your center access to the
Nightingale Internet Reporting system is required before your center can be given access to Nightingale.
This Addendum indicates your center's choice of IP address restrictions and also identifies the people at
your center who have Administrative rights to the VON Web Services. Click on "Getting Started" in the
above Quick Link box to start the process for obtaining a Web Services Addendum.
-
Web Services Administrator.
Your center's Web Services Administrator, identified on the Web Services Addendum, manages
Nightingale Users for your center by easily adding and removing users. Your Web Services Administrators
also have access to your center's raw data set which can be downloaded for further review.
