NICQ 7: Solving the Value Equation for Neonatal Intensive Care
NICQ 7 is the seventh in a series of intensive improvement collaboratives sponsored by the Vermont Oxford Network.
In this collaborative, interdisciplinary NICU teams including families, work under the guidance of expert faculty to
create unique improvement portfolios for their organizations and make measurable improvements in the quality, safety
and value of the care they provide. In NICQ 7, teams will develop and apply new strategies for improving value.
These strategies will be adapted by each team to their unique improvement portfolio.
It is important to recognize that this collaborative is about Value (Quality/Cost), not just cost; our priority is improving quality and safety.
By eliminating waste, overuse, underuse and misuse, and working more efficiently, we expose our patients and families
to fewer unnecessary and inappropriate procedures, interventions, and days in hospital, while improving the care experience
for patients, families and staff.
