National Quality Forum-Endorsed Performance Measures

The National Quality Forum (NQF) is a nonprofit organization that aims to improve the quality of healthcare for all Americans by setting national priorities and goals for performance improvement, endorsing national consensus standards for measuring and publicly reporting on performance, and promoting the attainment of national goals through education and outreach programs.

Vermont Oxford Network is a steward for six NQF-Endorsed Performance Measures. These are:

  1. Late Sepsis or Meningitis in Neonates (risk-adjusted). NQF#0303
  2. Late Sepsis or Meningitis in Very Low Birth Weight (VLBW) Neonates (risk-adjusted). NQF#0304
  3. First Temperature Measured within One Hour of Admission to the NICU. NQF#0481
  4. First NICU Temperature Less than 36 degrees Centigrade. NQF#0482
  5. Proportion of Infants 22 to 29 Weeks Gestation Screened for Retinopathy of Prematurity. NQF#0483
